全新 HBO 原創喜劇《矽谷群英》笑看高科技世界

在善於以高科技淘金的現代矽谷，矽谷群英看似是最有資格成功的一群，但卻往往最難掌握成功。曾參與《Office Space》、《Beavis & Butt-head》及《King of the Hill》 演出的 Mike Judge 將於全新 HBO 原創喜劇《矽谷群英》中將他的喜劇細胞發揮至淋漓盡致。故事部分內容靈感源於 Judge 本人於 80 年代在矽谷作為工程師的親身體驗，由 Judge 和 Alec Berg (《Seinfeld》、HBO《拉利真人Show》) 共同制作，一連八集的《矽谷群英》將於美國首播後一星期，即 4 月 13 日 (星期日) 晚上 9 時於 HBO Signature (now 寬頻電視; 114 台) 隆重首播，而新一季的《副總統 Selina》將緊接於晚上 9 時 30 分隆重首播。

 

與好友 Big Head (Brener 飾演) 、高傲的 Gilfoyle (Starr 飾演) 及機智的 Dinesh (Nanjiani 飾演) 居住在 Hacker Hostel 創業中心的 Richard (Middleditch飾演) 是一名性格內斂的電腦程式設計員。與社會格格不入的他們現免費住在一名自滿的網站百萬富翁 Erlich (Miller 飾演) 家中，並受著他的監察。只要 Erlich能從他們計劃中取得一成的股份，他們則可繼續免費居住。

當向億萬富豪投資者 Peter Gregory (Welch 飾演) 推銷失敗後，Richard 好像注定要繼續留在自大狂 Gavin Belson (Ross 飾演) 創立的科技公司 Hooli 內工作。當 Gregory 的營運主管 Monica (Crew 飾演) 和 Hooli 的主任 Jared (Woods 飾演) 得悉該網站系統價值不菲時，Belson 和 Gregory 迅即爆發一場競購戰，令夾在中間的 Richard 左右為難。

 

《矽谷群英》由一班年輕的喜劇演員共同演出，恆常演員包括 Thomas Middleditch (《Search Party》、《The Office》)、T.J. 《矽谷群英》是由 Mike Judge 、John Altschuler 和 Dave Krinsky 創作，及由 Mike Judge, Alec Berg、John Altschuler 、 Dave Krinsky 、 Michael Rotenberg 及 Tom Lassally 擔任執行監製，並由 Jim Kleverweis 及 Chrisann Verges 執導。

Attending an elaborate launch party, Richard and his computer programmer friends – Big Head, Dinesh and Gilfoyle – dream of making it big. Instead, they’re living in the communal Hacker Hostel owned by former programmer Erlich, who gets to claim ten percent of anything they invent there. When it becomes clear that Richard has developed a powerful compression algorithm for his website, Pied Piper, he finds himself courted by Gavin Belson, his egomaniacal corporate boss, who offers a US $10 million buyout by his firm, Hooli. But Richard holds back when well-known investor Peter Gregory makes a counteroffer.

After a celebratory party at the Hacker Hostel, Richard and Erlich learn that Peter Gregory won’t pay up until they deliver a viable business plan that includes a slimmed-downed staff. A desperate Richard hires former Belson underling Jared (Zach Woods), and they set about trying to trim the fat. While Gilfoyle and Dinesh prove essential, Big Head’s place in the company is less certain.

While Gavin Belson begins to hype Nucleus, a competing compression platform, Richard learns that the name Pied Piper is already registered to a sprinkler company, forcing him to negotiate. Meanwhile, Erlich goes on a vision quest for a new company name, and Peter Gregory proves elusive when one of his companies asks for money.

At Peter’s toga party, Richard drunkenly promises to make Erlich a board member, which he regrets the next morning. After being unassigned at Hooli, Big Head finds others like him who have made careers out of doing nothing. Richard struggles to put Pied Piper’s vision into words for a presentation without Erlich; later, he discovers an interesting connection between Peter and Gavin Belson.
